day 28. thrive/Our Lost Jungle

I strung letters together, high
strung and low key
I arranged them until
they became words
of a feather and held together
with beauty and meaning.

         *********

From nebulous conception
to agonizing birth
I pushed each word, I pushed
until it crowned, labored more,
then it arrived,
a bouncy poem.
It cried with a lusty
voice and thrived.

  1. Oh, man. That first stanza is fantastic. LOVE "high/strung and low key" and "words/of a feather and held together." Wonderful!

  2. Thanks, De, but I have to admit you were my inspiration. If I'd never read any of your work I don't think I would have ever done this. I am esp., pleased that you like it.
