Still Glowing

Our Lost Jungle prompt Here

We thought we invented love-
sex wasn't crashing waves and rockets
till our epic romance.
We felt sorry for the old people
grey hair, wrinkled skin
settled in, settled for
old fogies, establishment,
who surely
never did
never would
love as we.
Never get old,
never get old,
we vowed...
but now
take a peek
the fire still glows.

  1. This is so real...so often we think this way...you've captured it so well and so sweet, too, your ending. :)

    1. Thanks, Hannah. I'm old enough now to imagine the young kids looking at me that way - makes me chuckle.

  5. Well expressed. Your ending is exactly what I was told about getting old so long ago. :)
